Spiritual Armor: The Battle for God’s Will | 2 Samuel 17
In this week’s message, we continue our Shepherd King series by diving into 2 Samuel 17 and the spiritual battle for God's will. As Absalom and Ahithophel plot to take over David’s kingdom, they miss one key thing: this was never David's kingdom to lose—it was God’s kingdom all along.
Through the loyalty of Hushai and the misguided actions of Ahithophel, we see how human plans and bitterness can’t compete with God’s sovereign plan. Despite betrayal, manipulation, and rebellion, God’s Word and His purposes always stand firm.
This message challenges us to live as followers of the true King, Jesus Christ. His will always wins, even when life feels uncertain or out of control. Are you living for the world, or are you fully committed to the King of kings?
Let’s hold on to God’s promises and live boldly for Him, knowing His Word never fails.
We Don’t Need Resolutions; We Need Jesus
In this message from 1 Thessalonians 5:12-28, we uncover how we’re called to live as Christians—not by setting resolutions, but by centering our lives on Jesus.
Main Points:
Our secret future: We live with hope because of the promise of salvation (v9-10).
Our privilege: Comfort and encourage one another in faith (v11).
Our patience: Extend grace to difficult people (v14-15).
Our worship: Live with joy and gratitude, both personally and publicly (v16-22).
Our sanctification: Trust God to transform us as He works within us (v23-24).
Paul also emphasizes the importance of honoring our leaders—those who work tirelessly, guide us, and provide spiritual wisdom.
As the new year begins, consider this: Are you living with hope, building others up, and letting God shape your heart? Let’s focus not on temporary resolutions, but on walking faithfully with Jesus every day.
Mary | Luke 1:26-56
This week at South Bay Campus, we continue our Christmas Perspectives series with a meaningful message on Mary’s faith journey, based on Luke 1:26-56.
Mary’s story teaches us that faith begins when we accept God’s call, grows as we trust His promises, and is fulfilled through joyful submission and worship. Even when faced with the impossible, Mary responded with trust and praise, reminding us that God’s plans are always good and His purposes always prevail.
Joseph | Matthew 1:18-25
What can we learn from Joseph’s perspective in the story of Jesus’ birth? In this week’s message from our Christmas Perspectives series, we uncover the powerful role Joseph played in the coming of the Messiah. Often overshadowed by Mary and Jesus, Joseph’s character, faith, and obedience reveal an inspiring example of walking in trust and alignment with God’s plan.
Joseph’s quiet strength and faithfulness inspire us to trust God’s Word, embrace His plans—even when they’re beyond our understanding—and live lives of active obedience.
The Shepherds | Luke 2:8-20
The story of the shepherds in Luke 2:8-20 shows us how God often uses the unexpected to reveal His extraordinary purposes. These humble shepherds were the first to hear the life-changing news of Jesus’ birth. Their response is a powerful example for us today—they believed the message by faith, obediently sought the Savior, and joyfully shared the good news with others.
As we continue through our "Christmas Perspectives" series, we’re looking at the birth of Jesus through the eyes of those who experienced it firsthand. From the wonder of the shepherds to the wisdom of the Magi, each perspective reveals God’s desire to connect with us through Christ.
The Wise Men | Matthew 2:1-12
Who were the Wise Men, and why did they travel so far to find Jesus? These weren’t ordinary travelers—they were scholars, seekers, and worshippers, guided by prophecy and faith.
In this message, we unpack the incredible story of the Wise Men from Matthew 2:1-12, exploring their knowledge of God’s Word, their pursuit of truth, and their ultimate act of worship. Along the way, we examine the contrasting responses to Jesus’ arrival: Herod’s fear, the Jewish leaders' indifference, and the Wise Men’s joyful worship.

Protection from Satan's Attacks | 2 Samuel 15:1-37
In 2 Samuel 15, we witness the unfolding drama of betrayal, deception, and the unwavering promises of God. Absalom's rebellion against David highlights the dangers of self-glorification, false promises, and the schemes of Satan to lead people astray. Yet, through it all, David’s faith and trust in God’s Word serve as a powerful example of what it means to live with a heart aligned with God.
Restoration: A Two-Way Street | 2 Samuel 14:1-33
Restoration is at the heart of 2 Samuel 14, but this chapter shows us how human wisdom often complicates the process. David, Joab, and others all attempt to fix broken relationships and situations in their own ways—resulting in manipulation, deception, and unresolved tensions. What can we learn from their mistakes about seeking true restoration through God’s wisdom?
Depraved Nature of Sin | 2 Samuel 11
In this message, we explore the depth of David's downfall in 2 Samuel 11—a passage revealing how even a man after God’s own heart can be ensnared by sin's deceitfulness. By examining David’s actions alongside Uriah’s, we see a stark contrast between a mind set on God and one clouded by sin.
Stronger Together than Alone | 2 Samuel 10
In this message, we dive into 2 Samuel 10 to explore "Stronger Together than Alone: Lessons in Spiritual Warfare." This act mirrors God’s grace towards us, even when we feel unworthy.
Foretaste of What is to Come | 2 Samuel 8:1-18
In this message, we dive into Psalm 101 and 2 Samuel 8, exploring how God's promises are realized both physically in David's kingdom and spiritually through Jesus Christ. This chapter shows us the unfolding of God's sovereign plan as He brings victory and peace to His people.
Presumption v. Promise | 2 Samuel 7
In this message, we explore God’s promise to David—a covenant that transcends the building of a physical tabernacle. David desired to build a house for God, but God revealed His ultimate plan: to establish an everlasting house through David's lineage, fulfilled in Jesus Christ. While David’s perspective saw the work as complete, God’s vision was much greater. We reflect on the importance of obeying God’s Word rather than relying on our own understanding and how God's ultimate desire is to dwell among His people, a promise fulfilled through Christ. This covenant demonstrates that God’s plans surpass time, sin, and death.
True Worship Versus Counterfeit Worship | 2 Samuel 6
There are no shortcuts to peace with God. It comes when we give Him His rightful place of absolute authority in our lives, reflected in our continual willingness to listen and obey.

The ‘How’ Matters | 2 Samuel 4:1-12
In 2 Samuel 4:1-12, Rechab and Baanah misinterpret God's promise and take matters into their own hands by killing Ish-bosheth. They present his head to David, expecting a reward, but David condemns their actions, emphasizing that God's will is fulfilled through righteousness, not human schemes.
MAIN POINTS
Misunderstanding God's Promise
Rechab and Baanah acted on their own understanding of God’s will, assuming their actions would help fulfill God’s promise to David.David's Response

The passage teaches that true righteousness comes from God and calls us to live in a way that reflects His character, not our own desires.
This story is a powerful reminder that we cannot manipulate God's will for personal gain. True righteousness is not about achieving our own goals but about walking in alignment with God's character and will.

In this message, we explore the story of Joab, David's general, and how his actions reveal deeper truths about human nature and our relationship with God.
